Great post. Glad you enjoyed Midwich Cuckoos; a perennial favourite of mine. I'd forgotten all about Stepford Wives so will have to dust that one off and thanks for the suggestions about Harbor and Drummer Boy. For your next literary quest, how about a related topic: outsiders? My suggestions would be Toole's "A Confederacy of Dunces" and Susskind's "Perfume".
Great suggestion, Dave! I will have think about some ideas for that one, but it is certainly a rich topic with a lot of possible candidates.
