Congratulations! You have just been given a teleportation device. This device connects two distant locations via portals.

Important points to know about this device:

  1. Once the portals are set and activated, they can never be moved.
  2. You may place the portals anywhere on planet Earth. Public or private property, it makes no difference.
  3. No person or item can pass through the portals unless you grant him/her/it access.

Where will you put the two portals?

This month the commenter who gets the most ‘likes’ each week will win a digital copy of Kick by John L. Monk. Kick is a great book. Some have called it a cross between Quantum Leap and Dexter, and I think that’s an apt description.

In full disclosure, I know John, and he has written about my book on his website. However, I wouldn’t be giving this book away if I didn’t love it.  Check out the 51 5-star reviews on Amazon.
Note: You will need an Amazon account in order for me to get you the book if you win.

  1. The practical thing to do would be to put one at my house and one at my office, so I'd never have to commute again. (Until I get a new job or a new house)

The Porky's thing to do is put one in a girl's locker room somewhere.

The baseball fan in me would put one at Busch stadium, so I could go watch the Cardinals.

My official choice would be to put one at an airport (O'hare) so that way even if I move I can still get to it relatively easily. The other would be at an Island resort. I'm thinking St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.

  2. Central London and the west coast of India. I like working and hanging out in a vibrant city with a bit of history and culture, but I'd need a bolt-hole to wind down. Nowhere better than Goa/Kerala for great weather, a slower pace of life, fantastic beaches and amazing food.

  3. Well, my first thought would be to to put one in my basement and the other inside Fort Knox US Bullion Depository and then grant permission to all the gold to pass through. But then I figured I should use this for something that even money cannot buy. So my final answer is to place one in my basement, and the other inside Walt Disney World. This way I can go whenever I want, without a ticket or travelling. The beauty of this beyond saying 'Hey I feel like riding Pirates of the Caribbean and just doing it at any time, is having the ability to get in the park after hours.
